CHRISTIAN SARNOW, Gauger United States Revenue Department is a native of Germany, born March 25, 1837; emigrated to America in 1852 and came to Milwaukee in 1854; began working at the trade of carpenter and joiner for John Rugee. Mr. Sarnow has been officially identified with the interests of the city, and was twice elected Representative to the State Legislature; also represented the Ninth Ward in the City Council for two years. He enlisted and served during the war. In 1861, Sarnow was united in marriage to Miss Ursulla Laur, a native of Germany. She came here in 1854. The have four children – Emily, Christian, Carolina and Martha.
