Moritz Winkler was from Pt. Washington. He was wounded at Gettysburg. A musket ball entered the frontal bone of head and exposed membrane. Moritz was treated in at Seminary Hospital until July 8, the same year then was sent to South Street Hospital in Philadelphia where ball was extracted and he remained through 1864. He mustered out with the regiment on July 30, 1865. Moritz suffered from dimness of vision in his right eye, headaches, and dizziness, and received pension for total disability.
