AUGUST2 OLM (AUGUST1) was born March 02, 1826 in Kingdom of Prussia, Germany, and died October 21, 1897 in The Civil War. He married JOHANNE AUGUSTA LOUISA SCHULTZ September 18, 1865 in Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, daughter of MICHAEL SCHULTZ and ANNA DRAEGER(SCHULTZ)(HUEBNER). She was born June 17, 1839 in Seehausen by Prenzlau, Brandenburg, Prussia, and died November 17, 1925 in Town Stettin, Marathon City, Wisconsin.

August Olm was a veteran of the Civil War. He enlisted August 21, 1862 while a resident of Schleswig, Wisconsin. He was promoted to Seargent in the 26th Regiment, Company F. Appointed Sergeant on December 19, 1863. He was wounded at Averasborough Harnett, County on March 16, 1865
and sent to the hospital at Goldsboro. North Carolina while in the battle of the “March to the Sea” His discharge date was July 5, 1865 at David’s Island in the
New york Harbor. He married Johanna Schultz after his return. August Olm is buried in the St. John’s Schwartzwald Cemetery, Town of Herman, Sheboygan County, WI
Notes for JOHANNE AUGUSTA LOUISA SCHULTZ:
Johanna Schulz/Schultz, daughter of Carl Michel Schulz and Anna Dorothea Senglaub or Draeger was born in Germany June 17, 1839. She came to America with her family, arriving April 26, 1852 at the port of New York from Hamburg on the ship, The Herschel. At present we know she traveled with her mother , Dorothea Schulz Huebner and her brothers , sisters and half-sisters. Her step-father, Fred Huebner was not found on the passenger list. Further research is on going to find Fred Huebner. They may have lived on a farm in the Town of Meeme in Wisconsin.
Johanna married Friedrich Olm in 1858 and had three children. She changed her name to Frederica when Friedrich served in the Civil War and still went by that name after Fred died at Vicksburg. She didn’t change it until after she married August Olm, Fred’s cousin, in 1865. Johanna and August had 4 or 5 children together.
Johanna lived with two of her adult children later in her life, first with son August and Louise Olm in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County according to the 1900 Wisconsin census. She then lived with her daughter Bertha and Herman Klemme in the Town of Cleveland according to the 1920 Wisconsin census. She died October 17, 1925 in the Town of Stettin (Wausau), Marathon County, WI. She is buried with her husband August Olm in the Schwartzwald Cemetery, Town of Herman, Sheboygan County, WI.
