GEORGE SCHERZ. a native of Germany, was born in 1829. He was educated there, and followed the vocation of a forester for a number of years. In June, 1851, he came to Milwaukee, and commenced work as a gardener, in which business in connection with that of a florist, he has been engaged up to the present time. He has stall No. 12 in the East Division market. He enlisted, August 14, 1862, in the Twenty-sixth Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, Company I. He served with the regiment during the war, and was mustered out with it in 1864. He was married in 1853 to Miss Louisa Weimer. He has held several town offices, including justice of the Peace, which position he held eight years. Residence, corner of Washington road and Humboldt avenue.
