John Meyers died at his home, west of Butternut Lake, Tuesday morning, from heart failure, age 70 years. He had been in his usual health but when he arose Tuesday morning he felt a choking sensation and in a few minutes had passed away. Deceased was a comrade of the late Otto Boockman in the Civil war. He is survived by a widow, two sons and three daughters.

Otto Boockman, Sr., who died at Fifield on July 7th, lived for a number of years on his farm west of this city, and moved last fall to Fifield to make his home with his only daughter, Mrs. Schreiner. He was a native of Germany and served in the United States army during the Civil war. He came to Fifield at the time the railroad was built through here. His many old friends around Park Falls feel keenly the loss of an old comrade.
